I wish I had read all of this 40 years ago. It would have saved me a lot: money, time, frustration, and above all, self-doubt. But it didn’t exist back then. So I had to figure everything out on my own—through trial and error, through mistakes I kept making, and through the feeling that I was the only person on the planet facing these problems. Of course, I wasn’t. *Leuchtfeuerbuch* is my way of sharing what I’ve learned with you.

It contains many of the insights that emerged over four decades of magic, coaching, and exploring the psychology of learning. You decide for yourself what’s useful to you.

All of it field-tested, all of it without frills. Each chapter is guided by a Japanese concept—Shoshin, Wabi-Sabi, Kintsugi, Ichigo Ichie, and others—that form the thread of the book.

In the end, we make the leap from practice to performance: how to harness stage fright, keep your first performance small, and take the moment of Ichigo Ichie—once, one encounter—seriously.
